Each piece is made by local women, using the traditional Sipatsi weaving technique that combines basketwork and geometry symbols from the Tonga culture to brilliant effect. Handcrafted with natural ilala palm fiber in different patterns and colors. Finished with leather straps.

Dathonga’s handmade products are made entirely in Mozambique and can take up to a month for a weaver to complete, depending on the basketry techniques. Despite the difficulties of working in rural communities, Dathonga is committed to preserving and developing Mozambican craftsmanship and generating income for people with ancient skills in fair trade.
