KHOKHO COLLECTION
“We partner with women weavers in the Ntondozi region of eSwatini to create hand-dyed and hand-made luxury accessories.”
Khokho is a siSwati word meaning great-grandmother. The mission driving Khokho, which was established in 2014, is the preservation and elevation of ancient Swati handweaving techniques passed down from elderly women to younger generations. This eSwatini-based collective, comprising an entirely women-led team, creates unique basket-style bags which are hand-dyed and handcrafted from locally sourced natural materials and feature unique finishes of luxe, hand-sculpted cow horn labels. The accessories brand also seeks to empower artisans and their communities by providing them with a sustainable income, opportunities and support.
